We celebrated Burns night in style this year – members were piped in from the village and sat down to an excellent spread courtesy of Veronica and Nic with the ‘village cooks’ providing the vegetables. All agreed it was an excellent evening and the club raised over £200 for the refurbishment of the toilets – sorry, the much needed refurbishment of the toilets!
Fiona did the honours with the haggis and ‘addressed it’ as tradition dictates (though she said it really ought to be done by a man) with Burns’ poem, demonstrating not only her superb Scots accent but also hidden acting talents.
All in all it was an excellent night! Many thanks to all who attended, and if you missed it, Nic referred to the event as the ‘first annual Burns night’ – so there is always next year.
